    About the brand Victorinox

    VictorinoxVictorinox was founded in 1884, in the German-speaking town of Ibach, by Karl Elsener. From 1891 the company supplied knives to the Swiss Army. The famous logo, a cross in a shield, has been in use since 1909. In that year the founder Karl Elsener's mother died and in her honor he changed the company's name to Victoria. When stainless steel (French: acier inoxydable, often shortened to inox) was introduced in 1921, the company's name was changed again: Victorinox.
